֍ Le monument érigé en 1928 à la mémoire des habitants de Saaremaa morts au cours de la guerre d’indépendance (28 novembre 1918 – 2 février 1920). La statue est l’œuvre du sculpteur estonien  Amandus Adamson. Ce monument visible au centre d’un jardin triangulaire à la hauteur du n°3 de la rue du Château (Lossi Tänav) est une reproduction réalisée en 1990 par le sculpteur local Mati Varik.
Le monument original a été une première fois démantelé le 18 juin 1940 par l’armée soviétique puis restauré et remis à sa place à l’automne 1942. Il fut à nouveau démoli au printemps 1945 par les troupes soviétiques; la statue fut jetée à la mer, elle n’a jamais été retrouvée.
֍ The monument erected in 1928 in memory of the inhabitants of Saaremaa who died during the Independence War(28 November 1918 – 2 February 1920). The statue is the work of the Estonian sculptor Amandus Adamson and can be seen in the centre of a triangular garden at Lossi Tänav Street No. 3. It was reproduced in 1990 by the local sculptor Mati Varik. The original monument was first dismantled on 18 June 1940 by the Soviet army and then restored and replaced in autumn 1942. It was demolished again in the spring of 1945 by Soviet troops; the statue was thrown into the sea and has never been found.

Eesti skulptori Amandus Adamsoni loodud kuju on Lossi Tänav 3 asuvas kolmnurkse aia keskel. 1990. aastal taastas selle kohaliku skulptori Mati Varik. 18. juunil 1940. aastal demonteeris Nõukogude armee algse mälestusmärgi, mis taastati ja asendati 1942. aasta sügisel. Nõukogude väed lammutasid selle 1945. aasta kevadel uuesti; kuju visati merre ja seda ei ole kunagi leitud.
֍ Das 1928 errichtete Denkmal erinnert an die Einwohner von Saaremaa, die während des Unabhängigkeitskrieges (28. November 1918 – 2. Februar 1920) gefallen sind. Die Statue ist ein Werk des estnischen Bildhauers Amandus Adamson.Das Denkmal, das in der Mitte eines dreieckigen Gartens auf der Höhe der Burgstraße Nr. 3 (Lossi Tänav) zu sehen ist, ist eine Nachbildung, die 1990 von dem örtlichen Bildhauer Mati Varik angefertigt wurde.Das ursprüngliche Denkmal wurde erstmals am 18. Juni 1940 von der sowjetischen Armee abgebaut und anschließend restauriert und im Herbst 1942 wieder an seinen Platz gestellt. Im Frühjahr 1945 wurde es von den sowjetischen Truppen erneut abgerissen und die Statue ins Meer geworfen.
